How can I make dating more fun?

I've been dating again for around 8 months and I'm not really connecting with many people. I talk to several women each week but I just can't seem to get into them. I'd like to find a girl with a decent job, similar interests, mutual attraction and that lives relatively close to me.. I've found only found a few women matching that description, and it didn't work out for various reasons; one was off, one lived an hour away, another's profile pic looked nothing like her (3/4yo photo?), another was married and supposedly getting a divorce... a few cute older women but I'm not sure I'm ready for the 38+ crowd (I'm 31). What can I do to make dating more fun? I don't really want to take a break, I just want things to be more enjoyable.

My (27f) gf (27f) is getting tired of me not sharing intimate/ personal info about me

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now.
