Should I just be blunt and ask this girl I met if she's interested or not?

I've been talking to this girl for a little over a week now (she's home for a bit for summer vacation so I haven't asked her out properly) but she replies REALLY slowly. Her average reply time is 24+ hours. Her replies are really detailed and seems like she's really willing to engage in a conversation with me but the time in between replies is really throwing me off. Should I just be blunt and ask her if she's interested so I don't need to waste any more time if she's replying just to be polite? Sorry if this is a stupid question. I have no experience in dating, and especially not online dating.

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now.
