A sacrifice i have to make

You my love has to much on your mind. You are dealing with some issues that takes up most of your time and thoughts. When we are toghether there is a silence between us that i cant take anymore. For you to find time to solve your problems i must give you up. You dont need the distraction i feel i am. This is sadly not the time or place for us. You call me all the time, and want us to spend time. But i dont think you realize just how much you need to sort things out. But i do. I cant be with you when i clearly see that you need time alone, even if you dont see it yourself. That is why i have to let you go. Thats how much i love you. Maybe, if the time ever gets right... but it cant be us now. Goodbye my lover, goodbye my friend. Tonight i’ll let you now. I know its gonna break your heart, but in the long run its the right thing to do. I just cant take the painful silence no more.

The difference between being right and being understood

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now.
