Boyfriend needs breaks from sex.

I (25M) am in a great relationship with my boyfriend (28M), and I love him. Been together 6 months now, he’s moving in. We’ve known one another for 7 years so it’s getting pretty serious.

He told me going in that he has a low sex drive, so we’d probably only have sex about once a week. I’m fine with this, especially because when I’m horny otherwise he usually is pretty accommodating of everything I want but penetration.

Thing is, he’s very religious (Buddhist from China). He’s waiting to see about a couple of jobs, and told me he needs to “fast” from sex, porn and masturbation until he gets hired. I’m going on week three of no sex at all of any kind.

This is honestly okay because he’s worth it to me, however it’s also frustrating because this is my first relationship, and having someone to sleep with regularly is still pretty novel for me. I have considered asking if we can open it up when he needs to spend weeks sexless, but then I remember how into monogamy he is (I am usually as well, under normal circumstances).

It’s getting very frustrating and I’ve resorted to jacking off to porn like I did when I was single. I want him to get a fucking job so bad just so I can get it in again - but then I also wonder if it’s me. He assures me I’m not any sort of problem and he loves me, but you can see how I would draw that conclusion.
