I got ghosted by the person I love after 10 months of dating and it still hurts.

July 2019, I met up with this girl. She's really beautiful and she's fun to be around with. We exchanged a lot of kisses and hugs, but we didn't have sex because she doesn't want it. She's still a virgin and wants to remain one until marriage which I respect. We dated every week until the lockdown happened. We decided to follow the guidelines in California to play our part in slowing down the spread. March to May we just texted and texted and on my birthday, May 6, she even insisted on ordering pizza for me (my favorite food) and get it delivered to my house. One to two weeks after my birthday, she didn't reply for 24 hours. When she did, she told me she was busy. I got used to her slow replies, she usually replies once every 1 hour, she never replies when she's at work. That day was different. After that, her replies now takes 2-3 days. Then a week or two. She was never answering my calls. So I decided to call her job and got myself directed to her phone line, she told me that she'll explain everything and when she did, she just told me she was busy.

Her last text is that she's going to quarantine herself from her family in a small shed at their backyard because her job got one person infected. She never replied back.

Today, I looked at her sister's profile to see how my love is going, worst-case scenario is that she died or something but nothing significant about her sister's posts suggested that she died due to COVID. So it's safe to assume she's safe and well, just really doesn't want to talk to me anymore.

Why I think she likes me (but not love me):

  1. She always holds my hand. (She makes the first move.) And will not let go of it even while she's on her phone.
  2. She always asks me to stay like what I am today. (Someone who never drinks, smokes, and others.)
  3. Always tells me to take care when driving.
  4. She always bites me (that's her way of showing affection according to her).
  5. We never actually fight, but when I get angry, she apologizes.
  6. When eating, she always "spoon-feeds" me.
  7. She always serenades me by sending audio clips of her singing.

Red Flags I noticed:

  1. She's INC. Church for Christ group where she can only get married to other Church for Christ people. I'm Catholic. Her family is really devoted. But my love assured me that she's fine with me being Catholic.
  2. She deleted her two Facebook accounts. That's what she told me, but as it turns out she just blocked me. This was around December. I realized she blocked me because she's showing up on my friend's Facebook accounts. I confronted her about this and she just moves on to a different topic.
  3. I always visit her at her work. She got a new job and a new location around April and when I asked for her new work address, she goes to a different topic.
  4. She slowly responds to my replies.
  5. She's not transparent especially when it comes to her past relationship with one guy she also ghosted before.
  6. Remember those apologies? She'll repeat the stuff that she apologized for.

I got ghosted before, but this one's different. I texted her a few days ago, curious as to whether she's going to reply. I'm still yet to receive a new reply from her.
