Have a ton in common with a new girl from work, but i have no idea how to more forward

So a few new people started at my workplace this autumn. All of them seem nice, but my eye immediately caught one of them, and i was really attracted to her. Normally i avoid any romance-relations with people at work, as it's often risky, but we don't really work in the same department. I'm part of a group at work that likes to hangout outside work, and we've been inviting the new employees out for various activities, like we usually do every year. The girl in question, has like a TON of interests in common with me, And i'm not talking about like "we both like to watch tv", i'm talking like we both watch the same obscure and kinda unknown shows, and we've been talking about it. We both read books that most people have never heard of. When we're talking in a group, suddenly me or her will mention something that only me and her know about in the group. Really, the more i've talked to her when we've been gathering from work, the more i realise we have in common. I'm 28 now (she's also 28), and i've never in my life come across someone with the same amount of common interest as her.

Still, i don't really know how to go from here. We haven't had any "flirtatious" interactions or anything of the sort. I belive she's single, but i observed her at the local shop with another dude one time. A fellow colleague told me that this was appearantly her neighbour, that she basically almost lives with, but i have no idea if they are just friends or something more. Any advice on how i could possibly try to move this into anything? I was thinking i could always invite her to do something, but i'm worried that it might come across as something that is pure friendly..
