Quarantine Hinge Success Story

Okay, so I downloaded Hinge this quarantine mainly because I had a lot of time on my hands and I had just gotten out of a long term relationship a couple of months ago. I figured I could chat with people and test the waters of online dating from the comfort of my own couch. I swiped on some guy, saw his cute puppy, and sent him a message about it. I live in the US by the Canadian border, and I failed to see his location tag. After an hour or so of great conversation I come to realize he is Canadian, and immediately I'm disappointed. We continue to chat anyways. We video chat almost every single night, and he even purchased an upgraded phone plan so he can talk to me on his cell! We made a google doc with a list of all the things that we're going to do together once quarantine is over. Last night, we even exchanged addresses to send eachother care packages. We have a countdown going until the border opens, which is supposed to be on May 21st, but we both doubt that will really happen. Please send us good vibes and prayers to the Hinge gods! I can't let this die!

The difference between being right and being understood

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now.
