Question to Girls on Bumble

This happens to me a lot on Bumble. I’ll match with a girl, she’ll say something simple like, “hey, how’s it going?”, then I’ll respond by saying something like, “not much, how’s your day going?” And then they never respond. I’m curious as to why this happens so often, because why start a conversation if you don’t plan to say anything after the first line? Or are they just waiting for me to respond with something more and carry the convo? I want to make it clear that I am not giving them a dead end answer, like “good” or “fine”, I usually acknowledge what they say and ask them a question back, so the ball is in their court to respond, and when they don’t, I just feel weird double responding, so I don’t and the convo dies.
