My mom thinks I should go out with my ex teacher

So I’m 17 turning 18 in 2 weeks and I just graduated high school. One of the teachers I had who is 24 is a good friend of my mother as they attend the same church.(I don’t go to church due to having to work every Sunday at 12.) They have gotten to know each other really well and my teacher has even been over to our house a few times. Due to my teacher knowing my mother personally it was almost impossible for me to slack off on my work as my mother would know not even an hour after the class dismissed.

But recently my mother has been saying things like we would make a good couple, and that my teacher needs a man like me to take care of her. At first I thought she was joking but as she keeps saying this more and more i feel like she is serious. Due to me just recently graduating there isn’t really anything wrong with us dating. It wouldn’t be illegal or anything like that, but thinking about dating my recent teacher is weird.

There is I dislike about her either, in fact I think she is a perfect woman. She has good looks, a nice figure, great personality, and with her being a teacher she is clearly intelligent. But it doesn’t sound right. Me dating my ex teacher who is also a good friend of my mom.... it just doesn’t seem right.

It looks as if my teacher does take a interest in me as she still keeps up with me heavily even after graduation. We even text on a daily basis now. So we don’t just have a teacher student bond going on anymore but more like a actual friendship bond now.

I just wanna know if it is a good idea for me and my teacher to actually take into consideration what my mom has been saying. Should we really give dating a try, as I feel I wouldn’t be much of a man to someone like her considering I’m significantly younger, I don’t have a actual high paying job that a man would have, and as I don’t even have any experience with girls at all. And with my ex teacher being 24, she isn’t a girl, she is a woman now.

Should I take the risk and give it a shot with her or just forget about what my mom has been saying?

Tl:dr my mom wants me to date her friend who is also my old teacher now.
