How can I [27M] make it up to my gf [28F] and show her how much I appreciate her?
So my girlfriend and I have been together for almost two years now. We have a very healthy relationship and just started living together in April. She works at a school and I’m a bartender. She has the summer off of work but is still getting income and so I took a week off of work to go on vacation with her and on the first day of the vacation, I completely shattered my left leg and ankle. I do not have a lot of money and have now lost my income for the next few months and she has been just so incredible about it all.
It’s been really hard on us both, especially through two surgeries, a few nights in the hospital and I don’t have insurance. So our dream of a debt free future seems to be completely ruined because of me. Despite that she is doing everything she can to take care of me and is my rock and I’m just so grateful. I feel terrible all the time because she is having to take care of me and pay for pretty much everything we need, especially now that I’m not making any more.
I just want to know something I can do to make it up to her and show her how much I appreciate everything she is doing for me. I tell her all the time, but I don’t feel like that’s good enough. I’ve basically ruined her life plans since before we got together and she just keeps telling me it’s going to work out and is fine and is still cooking me dinner and taking care of me and I just feel so grateful and at the same time worse. Worse that this amazing person can’t pay off her student loans or buy whatever she wants because I can’t get out of bed and help pay the bills. Also, we just moved into a house that’s like an hour away from all of our friends so she can’t do anything but sit inside now that I can’t go out and do fun stuff with her.
What would you guys suggest of a way I can show her how much I care and how amazing she is?
TLDR - I broke my leg on vacation and now my girlfriend has to pay for everything and basically stays home all the time to help me out and take care of me. I’m super grateful and feel awful and just want to figure out a way to make it up to her or show her how much I appreciate her.
