How to address Transitioning weight (photos and profile) when reentering the dating game?

TLDR: how do people address ongoing weight fluctuations in early stages of (online) dating? (Especially in regards to pictures)

So much like everyone else I gained 20lbs during Lockdown, but I was chubby before already too lol. Finally decided to get into hustle mode hitting the gym 4/5 times a week doing Judo and CrossFit. I’m starting to lose the weight and gain muscle etc.

For dating profiles recent pics are best, I know but I didn’t really take any pictures of myself during lockdown (didn’t do much). And while I’ve reapproached the weight I was before lockdown, that was 2 years ago, so I don’t want to be accused of any kind of cat phishing. But as I keep going with the weight loss and toning(hopefully), things will keep changing? How do I address the elephant (okay NOT THAT FAT lol) in the room? Do I just point out old pics are old? (My older pictures have my interests and hobbies) mark dates on new ones and say “on a fitness journey” (cringey as it is?) or something? Gym pic?

Also, if body type changes during early stages of dating would that be a problem? I’ve never had trouble dating at the weight I was before, but it was guys who were into slightly chubby chicks. My worry is I’ll start dating someone into me, then as my body changes they might not be, it certainly happens when women gain weight, it’s not impossible to think it might happen the other way around…. (Yes yes I know personality is king at the end of the day, but in initial stages it’s vanity is there)

Do I wait until I hit my “fitness” goal and then pick up dating again?

I’m dreading going back to Online dating TBH. Covid gave me an excuse to stay out of it all together and focus on other things, but I’m at the point I’m ready to jump back in mentally.

Edit: I’m happy with myself at any weight so no self esteem BS to work out, but for health (prevention) reasons I’m buckling down to lose it.
