(19f) spent $50 on a dildo just for it to hurt me too much. Am I too tight, do I need better preparation or just a better dildo for me?

Hi all! I bought a "realistic" 6inch dildo (not sure the girth but pretty thick) and I've found it hurt me too much. The thing is, I've had sex with my ex who was a bit smaller (5inch and less thick) and it never hurt. I thought the size up wouldn't hurt too much, but it does. Even when I use a lot of lube, it hurts when it goes in, feels better after the next 2-3 minutes, then starts to hurt again.

I've been told I'm really tight and I even used to struggle to use just my hairbrush, so I'm wondering if it's that or I just need better prep? Should I keep trying with this one or get a new one? If so, any dildo suggestions? Thanks!
