Climax vs Orgasm vs Everything Else

I'm a bit of a late bloomer and I feel like I should know a lot of this stuff at my age but I don't have a lot of experience. When I'm by myself, I try not to overthink it all and just do what feels good. Any responses are appreciated :)

When I first started exploring my body (at 19, I'm 25 now) I wasn't sure what to do expect. I would just hump against my blanket or pillows because it felt good (which is apparently called edging) but there wasn't any explosion of feelings etc. Eventually Id do it more and more until I couldn't take the stimulation, then I'd stop and let myself calm down. I got this hot rush all over my body and sometimes my thighs would quiver, but that was it.

I thought that's what an orgasm was for a while but when I looked it up online it was something different (a "climax"). I read an article saying orgasms were bigger and better, and it wouldn't be a mystery if I had one--I would know for sure.

My first sexual partner was really focused on wanting to make me cum, and I was embarrassed admitting I wasnt sure how that felt. He went down on me and stimulated me in a way that was totally different and better than what I could do to myself, pushing me past where I probably would've stopped. It had something similar to before where my body got hot all over but it felt more intense and pleasurable. I got really shaky after and my legs felt like jello.

I've had it happen a few times since then, both by myself and with a partner, but it wasn't always as intense. However, my last partner (different from the first) said it wasn't an orgasm because there wasn't any additional fluids and I didn't "squeeze" him or something like that. I didn't think there had to be actual fluids since women don't cum like men, but it made me wonder.

How do I actually know the difference (if there is one) between a climax or an orgasm? Is there a certain way one or the other is supposed to feel? I know that not every woman ejaculates or squirts but is there some kind of additional fluid thats supposed to be there beyond just being "wet" to show that it's an orgasm?
