Need advice on how to approach a guy I'm interested in

Hello hey so i (22f) like this guy (22m), he's a friend of one of my friends but he and i never actually interacted irl. We live in different cities due to school and the chances of us meeting face to face are slim rn.

I only interact with him on twitter but I've never really built up the courage to slide into his dms. He did once but the conversation died quickly. The only interaction where i expressed interest was replying to his profile picture with a youre fine as shit reaction pic and that went completely unnoticed so...

He's exactly my type physically but personality wise i only know what my friend told me about him and im assuming i at least fit into his type when it comes to girls because he tweets about wanting/welling to die for/simping for big tiddy goth/alt gfs like on the daily. I also think he's bi so im not sure how interested he'd be if i hit him up.

Also, I'm literally a conversations killer, for some reason im only interesting until someone talks to me then bam they go ghost, i think it's because i sound weird as i have social anxiety but i don't really know my mind just goes empty and either sound uninterested or trying too hard.

I wanted to follow him on Instagram but that would be too creepy since we literally only have 1 mutual and basically only talked once. How do i slide into his dms without sounding weird or scaring him away? And how do i show him that im beyond totally okay with his gender and sexual identity because we both come from an extremist homophobic community and it is always the safer option to consider everyone anti lgbtq until proven otherwise. Or how do i at least get him to notice me without trying too hard or ruining things? Especially that most of our interaction will take place online until at least this semester is over and we can actually consider going out? Or do you think he probably notices the subtle afforts but is uninterested?
