Would you exploit someone with low self worth or just walk away?

I know they say we teach people how to treat us and although I’m a model I have insanely low self worth. I know that’s considered unattractive but I thought the normal thing is to just walk away or ignore someone. Why would someone engage you but be cold and demeaning? Even while sexting he comes off short and makes demeaning comments. I’m worried it’s my looks that makes him treat me like that as I’m insanely insecure but I don’t understand it. Is this normal? If you don’t like someone or think they are hideous why not just ghost?

My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now.
