Should I text him afterwards?

I’m a girl (19) that went out with a guy (21) last night to a movie date. I was really awkward and nervous, like more so than usual because he was honestly more attractive than I was expecting lol. But I think it went ok considering that, throughout the movie he touched my leg a couple of times and our arms were touching pretty much the whole time throughout so I thought that was good thing? After the movie we sat in a coffee shop and talked for a bit, maybe about an hour before he said he had to get home. I think the conversation went well, although he kind made me feel like a loser at one point when I said I don’t go out much at night (a lot of this is bc I can’t legally drink). The goodbye part was kinda awkward, he didn’t kiss me or anything but we hugged.

It’s been a little over 24 hours and he hasn’t texted me or anything yet, is this a bad sign? Should I text him and possibly apologize for being awkward and shy? I’m fun once I get to know people/get comfortable but it’s hard for me to open up right away ugh. Will it look desperate if I text him first?

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now.
