Need advice: 17 going to a doctor to see my penis

I have a bump that has been there for like two weeks and I finally had the courage to tell my parents but I'm super scared for when I go to the doctor and i have to show the doctor (probably a girl) my penis, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get hard and I know I'm gonna be super embarrassed and should I shave to make it easier to see?? And how do I not get hard and embarrassed?

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now.
