I want a second date, but I don’t want him to think I need it RIGHT now or out of pity.

Went on a date with a guy a few weeks ago. It went great, and we talked about going out again but so far no definite plans. We’ve literally talked everyday since then, but I want to know if he’s even down for a second date. I just don’t know how to bring it up to him without him feeling like he HAS to ask me out at this specific moment, or him asking me out of pity. Does any one have any advice about how I could phrase this without sounding overly needy? Thanks 😅
