Hooked up with a guy whose girlfriend broke up with him a month ago and now I’m getting mixed signals? Or confused signals... dude I don’t even know what type of signals send help lmao

So alright I recently hooked up with this guy that I used to see around a club I used to go to like 18 months ago. He literally just texted me out of the blue and told me his girlfriend broke up with him and I thought “alright whatever I’ll let him hit it” and I thought that would be it. But we actually found out we have a lot in common and we’ve been texting every day since we hooked up. He was even the first person to text me after my surgery the other day and he told me to come over and watch a movie as soon as I can walk again (and he’s perfectly aware that I’m not in any position to be able to have sex). I’m not the type of person to catch feelings quickly or assume that others have feelings for me but I just don’t really get it. He also told me he wanted to be with me (sexually I assume) before he got a girlfriend but he was scared to approach me and didn’t do anything about it for over half a year. Is this some fwb who are homies too type of shit or what is this???? I don’t want to ask him about it because I don’t want him to think I assume or expect anything I mean his ex broke up with him like a month ago so I really don’t but I need someone else’s opinion on this

My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now.
