I'm (F27) trying to rekindle friendship with an old crush (M27) but it's hard.

So I've known this guy for a little over a year and we used to be good friends. I had feelings for him and I think he did too, but at the time I didn't address it properly, things got awkward and we drifted apart. We're just acquaintances now. Although we haven't been in touch for many months I've been thinking about him and wish I could rekindle our friendship (not with a specific agenda in mind.)

The thing is, I texted him and perhaps seemed too casual/confusing. Since it was out of the blue I texted him about some course he had done (I was nervous and didn't know how else to start). After we exchanged formalities, he asked about my course options, then I gave him a run down and he hasn't said anything after. I guess I didn't leave much to reply to but I was hoping we'd go forward from there?

So I need help on how and what to text him to convey I actually want to talk to him and he's been on my mind (not about some course lol). Is it weird for guys if a girl reaches out like this? I'm nervous about double texting cause I don't know if my reaching out will be welcomed, and because he lives a 3 hr flight away. Should I still text him? If so how do I go about it?

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now.
