That smile on his face...

To provide some back story, my significant other and I are currently in a long-distance relationship and will only meet each other at the end of this year. We communicate daily via Discord and sometimes voice or video call one another.

There was something that happened recently over video call that instantly made my heart melt into a puddle of warm chocolate, and it is a memory that I will never forget... I had typed something along the lines of, "you are maddeningly beautiful, and I am so glad that you are mine." to him on Discord.

I watched him open Discord over video chat, and when he read my message, he broke into a huge happy smile. I always think that he is extra gorgeous when he smiles; my heart skips a beat whenever he does and that easily makes me break into a smile as well, so this time was no exception. I was watching and smiling back at him while he started to type a reply to me (he was on another voice call at the moment). In the midst of replying, he paused for a moment, tilted his head back and closed his eyes with that lovely smile on his face, as if to enjoy the wave of joy and pleasure flooding through him. He stayed like this for a few seconds and he looked so damn happy and contented. I will never ever forget that look on his face.

I have never known that I could make someone this happy. He is definitely the love of my life, and I cannot wait to finally marry him one day! ♡

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse.
