need some advice on pegging

so my fwb (m) had never done any butt stuff before and recently told me he was interested in getting pegged. I suggested we start slower with a tongue or finger so I did a little bit of that last time we hooked up and since then he went ahead and got a strap on. Im down for the new experience/adventure but I have 2 main reservations and I’m hoping someone can offer some insight, particularly other women who have been in this situation.

1) we are just friends with benefits. I do care for him but I don’t love him and I’m not sure I want the vulnerability and intimacy that comes with taking his “anal virginity” (taking that phrase with a grain of salt). It would also be my first time. Am I wrong in assuming this is a lot for a casual, non romantic relationship?

2) the thought of wearing a strap on does not make me feel sexy. I’m usually quite submissive when we have sex and I’m used to being sexy in certain ways. How do I get past the weirdness of wearing a strap and having a plastic dick dangling off me?

My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.
