Is it time to shoot my shot?

So I (21M) have started going on dates with this childhood friend (22F) since we've both became single. We are over 10 dates in, so during valentines I though I would take her out and get her something to which she agreed. The day came and I presented the flowers + chocolate (typical, I know :P) and asked her to be my valentines, to my surprise, she was extremely hesitant. I didn't get a yes or a no but it was incredibly awkward on the spot. Well I asked again to where she blushingly responded with can I think about it. I thought it was pretty much doomed at this point so I just tried to enjoy our night without making it too awkward. She ended up accepting my gifts but didn't give me an answer to my original question.

I thought it was time to move on at this point, but then I received a call a couple days later. She called and said she wasn't sure what I meant when I asked her that...so i told her it was pretty much just asking to be my date for the night. I jokingly asked her again even though it's already way past valentines and she replied with yea sure ill be your valentines. Since then we've gone on another date that went also pretty well. Looking back at everything now, it seems like she took my question as asking her to be my girlfriend? I could have probably capitalize and just went with it but I thought we could use a little more time before actually committing. What do you guys think of this situation? Should I just shoot my shot since she already took a couple days to think about it? xd it's a first for me and I'm not sure how to go about it.
