My girlfriend [34/F] is depressed and is gaining weight, I'm [30/M] feeling less attracted to her, and it's getting in the way of our sex life
My girlfriend and I have been dating for about a year and a half. About 5 months ago, she had some major life events happen (being intentionally vague because she is on reddit) and started being really depressed. She often doesn't want to leave the house and never wants to go out and do the things I want to do.
She always says she's afraid of being a burden, and I'm starting to feel like she is. On top of that, she has started to gain a lot of weight too, and doesn't look the way she did when we started dating. Obviously, this has gotten in the way of our sex life and I have a hard time feeling aroused and connected.
How do we rekindle the spark? She is seeing a therapist for her depression but it doesn't seem to really have helped.
Edit: before this we had a really good sex life and would have sex at least every other day if not more. She's always been kind of on the heavier/curvier side and we were ready to jump each other's bones on a moment's notice. It's changed a lot recently and I don't know what to do.
