Is it a bad idea to meet a girl through a parent?

There is a girl I met briefly once that one of my parents frequently sees along with her parent.

Would it be a bad idea to have them say something about me to her or something. Is it too embarrassing for the girl?(shes 20). I don't have any other means of contacting her but admittedly I'm pretty embarrassed by the idea myself.

If it is acceptable what should I consider doing if I want to just get a casual contact or hang out some time, doesn't even have to be a serious date?

My (27f) gf (27f) is getting tired of me not sharing intimate/ personal info about me

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now.
