What to do? Ghosted and unghosted?

I need advice about one guy who I met through Tinder. The first time we matched was in the end of 2017. I liked him immediately. We live about 3 hours apart in different countries (EU) so we didn’t meet back then, but we talked every day for a month. And then I ghosted him. I remember he send me a text one morning saying “Hey” and I never responded. I was going through a difficult time and wasn’t ready to date. I know, I know, ghosting is shitty, but I actually prefer it to hearing “Sorry, not into u”.

Anyway, almost 2 years pass by and we match again on Tinder, start talking and agree that we wanna meet this time around. Again, we talk for a month, and then he starts to slow fade me. Texting every 3 days, sometimes saying “Hey how are u” and when I reply, he doesn’t reply to me. Until one day he stops replying all together.

Then a month passes and now he texted me out of blue that he’s so sorry and he had a rough period in life and he want to talk and meet (finally lol).

I don’t really know what to make of it. I liked him a lot, but during the month of silence I kinda got over him. I mean, I still find him cute, but wouldn’t be meeting him now letting him treat me as “take or leave” whenever you want type of girl.

Any advice is appreciated

My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse.
