What is her intent?

Hey guys!

This will be a long post because I'm long winded. I'll have a TL;DR for those who don't want to read a wall of text.

So I'm [M|25] pretty sure I'm just overthinking this situation, but I'd like someone else's input. There's this girl [F|24] I went to high school with and I'm really into her. I always had a thing for her but never pursued. We didn't talk much throughout undergrad because we were both in relationships. We both had bad breakups with our respective exes and have been out of the dating game for a year or two.

Last month before my birthday, she asked if I wanted to hang out one weekend and we did. She drove up to my city 30-40 minutes away from where she's attending college. We went to a local place for a meal and just had the most wonderful conversations. Ranging from casual, to flirty, to sincere, and everywhere in between.

We went back to my place for her to use the restroom and head back home. She gave me a big hug and left. She said we should do this again. I tried to walk her out but she seemed ready to go.

We rarely text or snap. We'll have a long conversation once in a while but then she'll rarely respond back and I feel like I don't keep her interest. So we go a few weeks without talking.

Last week she messaged me asking if I was free this weekend. Of course I said yes. She said I can plan it again. We snapped all night and it was fun, casual, and flirty at times but nothing crazy. I got a new job and will get paid more, even enough to maybe buy a starter home. She said I'd have to let her crash there in the future. Any other conversation I've initiated hasn't lasted long so I (again) feel like I lose her interest so I back off again.

She's a very independent woman and I respect that but I also don't want to come on too strong but not strong enough for her to lose interest. Maybe she's just wanting to hang out as friends?

What's your guys' opinion?

TL;DR: Girl I went to high school with has initiated hanging out twice. We'll have a solid night or two of conversation and you never really hear back from her after. I really like her and want to keep her interested. But if she's only wanting friendship, I don't want to make myself worried about it.
