Online Dating: are there bots and fake accounts on all websites or are some better than others?

I thought I would give online dating a try so I created an account on one of the free online dating sites. Almost immediately I got a bunch of chat invitations and other profiles asking me to click on random links (I'm a guy). These profiles are clearly automated bots, since supermodels probably aren't sending text invites within seconds of someone registering.

Are all dating sites filled with bots like this, or are some sites filled with more actual people?

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse.
