Good first date, but he’s traveling for several weeks due to his consulting job. How do I keep the momentum going over text? [26 F, 29 M]

I had a good first date with a great guy 2 weekends ago. We met up for lunch and ended up talking for a few hours, up until the restaurant closed for the afternoon.

However, he’s a consultant and is on a project right now that has him away until early October.

So far, we’ve texted each other every day. We each send long texts about our days, and about random things too. We match each other in terms of text length and cadence of responding, and ask questions to keep the convo going.

However, I’m a bit nervous about being able to successfully keep this up for a month - what if the convo goes stale? It’s essentially trying to have a LDR type of deal (except we’re not official) but we’ve only met once in person!

Presumably and hopefully, he’ll want to see me again. I take it that the fact that he’s also sending long texts and we’re responding to pretty much every line we each write means there’s mutual interest.

What advice do you have to keep the momentum until he’s back? What are some things I could incorporate into the convo to keep things interesting? Should I just keep doing what I’ve been doing?

Tl;dr: had a good first date with a great guy, but won’t be able to see him again soon due to his work schedule (he’s on a consulting project in another state until early October). How do I keep the momentum going over text? Should I just keep doing what I’ve been doing?
