Asking if I was dating anyone... why?

Sorry for the repost! Background! Long story short, a few months ago I (22m) had feelings and she (24f) didn't. Said she wasn't in a place where she wanted to date (genuinely wasn't). She got into a relationship a while after that (couple months after not being in a good place to date) and I said I can't be just friends and went out separate ways, that was about a month and a half ago (they broke up kinda quickly). Present time, we're talking again but I'm assuming as friends. I’m mostly over her from the time away & fine w/ friends but wouldn’t complain if it were something more.

We went out and grabbed dinner and she asked me if I was dating anyone. I said I wasn't dating anyone and she acknowledged it & I asked the same, she isn't dating anyone either. But my question is why? I’m thinking she might be because I said I can’t be friends w/ her and went separate ways, she prob knows I had/have feeling then asks that. But then again we haven’t seen each other in a while so maybe catching up. Was it for conversation (pretty shitty topic) or is she interested?

Any advice, words of wisdom or really anything is appreciated! Thank you Reddit fam :)

My (27f) gf (27f) is getting tired of me not sharing intimate/ personal info about me

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now.
