And as already stated just because one is lgbt doesn’t automatically force them to identify with the community if they don’t want to.

I wouldn't phrase it like that. If they don't really want to be considered lgbtq, then implying one is lgbt and expressing it toward them is going against their wish of not being considered part of them. I'd just leave it at "If you don't see yourself as them, then you are not.".
