Is it smart to use a condom for your first time?

Me and my guy we are considering having sex soon, but there are complications so i advised him to keep a condom in his wallet in case we found ourselves going for it. Here's the thing, its our first time both of us and i heard tales from my married friends about women contraception that made me hate the mere of idea of taking it as a birth control. So i said "just in case we couldn't stop lets keep a condom in reach" and he agreed. But now my so not educated about sex ass think that the pain will be double if we use condom? Ps: if you have any other advise for our first time pls add it, i can use anything!

My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse.
