Did I ask my crush out the wrong way?

Hey everyone, so I asked my crush out recently I’m 17 and she is also 17 we go to highschool. She’s my first crush so I thought I could win her over if I did something nice to ask her out. So the day comes to ask her out, I buy some nice flowers and I wrote a meaningful card describing my feelings and I asked if she wanted to go out. Well it turns out she didn’t like my proposal. She said no ,and that letter I wrote to her friends, she decided to send it to her best friends. Her friends started texted me and saying random stuff and calling me stuff with laughing emojis. I had to delete my snap after that I couldn’t handle the embarrassment. I really thought she liked me tbh but from this I guess not. I’ve never thought that I would be rejected in such a way like this, I feel so awful, did I ask her out in the wrong way?
