Ethics of Sex Robots

What are some of the ethical issues tied to sex robots? To be clear, these aren't like inflatable dolls or even the silicone sex dolls that are manufactured now. These are the sex dolls that would have artificial intelligence built into them, like Siri, but even more sophisticated, such that it would be able to remember who you are, your likes/dislikes, carry on conversations with you, plus all of the other cool stuff that Siri does. It would basically be able to learn about you and use predictive modeling to please you.

  1. I was thinking they could be used as sexual surrogates for therapy, however, I don't know whether surrogacy is effective when it comes to therapy. Does anyone have any sources that could show me whether surrogacy is an effective form of therapy?
  2. Do you think sex robots are a realistic threat to the way we form and maintain relationships? Could we see a decline in people having sex with other humans because relationships are too messy? How will sex robots affect reproductive rates?
  3. Do you see any potential benefit socially, or relationally of having a realistic humanoid android that can function sexually?

My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse.
