Boyfriend not turning me on right

Hello!

I have a bit of a problem and was hoping you lovely ladies and guys could help me solve it. My boyfriend isn't turning me on when we have sex. I'm so happy to be with him and want to be turned on but it's just not happening. His idea of foreplay is well... not great. He starts by kissing me and rubs all over my body which is great! But then he never takes off my clothes for me and tries to immediately start fingering me and being to rough with my clit. I think he does that because he likes when I'm rough with him. But that really doesn't do anything for me. I want something more gentle. To feel desired and like he can't get enough of me. He also is really uncomfortable with talking dirty which helps me relax and get my mind in the right head space. How do I tell him nicely that what he is doing currently is not working for me? If you guys have any advice or have been in a similar situation please tell me.

My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse.
