Husband has genital piercing and I want an IUD

I’m done with the pill, I’ve been off it for like a month and I feel so much better! So I wanna get a non hormonal IUD. These have strings that go outside the uterus and sit around the cervix.

My husband has a Prince Albert piercing on his penis (basically a biggish ring that’s on the tip of the glans). There is some risk that his ring could get tangled in the strings and yank the IUD out.

From what I’ve read online the risk isn’t so high, however there’s very little I could find. That’s why I’m asking here in case more people have had experiences with this.

As a side question, are there any guys here with a PA piercing who take it out for sex? If so, does taking it off/putting it back on irritate the penis too much? As that could be a solution to minimize risk.

Thanks y’all!
