Advice for asking my girlfriend about birth control?

So, I'll keep it a short read for everyone. We're both towards the tail end of college and we've been dating about 5 months now. She is a lil bit away but we see each other for extended weekends every week or two, which she will be coming back here come December for good. She's never dated anybody before me, nor has had sex with anyone else. The most she ever did was a kiss in high school, while I have a bit more experience.

We both engage in oral sex and fool around in other ways quite a bit, but in these 5 months we haven't had sex. We almost did at one point and she said she wanted to, but she wasn't on birth control at the time so we didn't. That was about 2 months ago or so now and I haven't really brought it up since but I've been thinking about doing so.

I don't wanna pressure her into taking anything she doesn't want to so I'm just asking for advice on the best way to approach this? Should I bring up potentially getting her on birth control, suggesting a condom, or even seeing if she's ready for sex again? Just sorta second guessing what to do since its been a hot minute since I've last talked about it with her. Don't wanna come across like I'm being pushy is all. She's the more inexperienced one and a virgin at that so I wanna make sure she's comfortable.

My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse.
