My ex boyfriend texted me after being apart 6 months. He told me he wants to get back together; is he leading me on?

my (24f) ex boyfriend reached out to me a couple days ago and i am having trouble letting it go.

he texted me on thanksgiving a photo of us saying he was thinking of me and hoped i had a good day- i responded “you too.”

a few days later, he texted me and said he hasn’t been able to stop thinking of me and misses me a lot. we ended up chatting and he told me he’s still in love with me. i called him to which he showed me he kept most of my things: clothes, letters, paintings. he kept and hung up gifts i gave him which was apparent by how his apartment looked.

he told me he hasn’t been stable financially and is considering moving out of state. he wants to see me before he goes to see if there’s still that connection. we live four hours apart now. he also told me he’s been considering for a few months to move where i am.

he then proceeded to tell me he had sex with a pornstar, and that he’s friends with his ex before me. which is news to me because they weren’t friends while we were dating…but she “has a boyfriend” anyways.

we haven’t really talked in the last 2 days since all of that and i’m afraid to reach out.

is he trying to lead me on?

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse.
