Cherry popping... Can the hymen break twice?

When I was 15 I lost my virginity to a cute guy with a small stature and pretty small member. I bled quite a lot, which is to be expected. Anyways, I cleaned myself up and was super happy to have gone through this rite of passage. I only had sex with him once, and didn't have sex again until about 4 months later.

The second guy I was with is very tall and has a much larger penis. Since I had already lost my virginity, I was very surprised to bleed again the moment he entered me. He was surprised too, and assumed I was on my period, which I most definitely was not. I was too embarrassed to explain that it seemed like he popped my cherry a second time, and I wasn't even sure if this was possible.

10 years later, I'm still not sure this is possible, but it does seem to make sense, that a smaller girth would partially rupture the hymen and it could still be broken more by a larger man. I have never heard anything about this, and I don't have any other explanation why I would bleed during sex only on my first and second time, never thereafter. Is this a thing? Does anyone else have any experience similar to this?
