can't tell what this guy's deal is lol

So, this is a guy who followed me on instagram way back about a year ago (maybe it's two years now). I usually don't accept randos on social media but we had a mutual friend in common and worked for the same organization just in different locations. i accepted his follow and forgot about it, but then i noticed he'd been liking my photos for a few months it wasn't weird because he wasn't liking selfies or anything but i thought i'd reach out and message him and see what he was up to/introduce myself, i wasn't expecting a lot to come of it because i knew how far away we were from each other but i was thinking some flirting could be nice. so we exchanged info and social media accounts after like 3 weeks of messaging i think? he friended me on fb immediately, liked my post and picture but when i went to his profile i saw he had a girlfriend... immediately i got weirded out (noticed he didn't really even like his gf's posts and things) and left it at that and decided to forget about it. over the course of the year he would like my photos and view almost all of my insta stories pretty consistently. just recently and i know this is kinda random i posted a photo of books i'd been reading during quarantine and he commented on my photo saying he'd loved one of the books i was reading basically. again, i didn't think too much of it and just responded lightly but idk what to make of this. i did some light fb digging lol just to see if he did this with other girls and he def doesn't like everyone's pics or comment on everyone's pics so idk what to make of this. is this just a random comment or is he trying to reach out/start a convo?

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now.
