How do I tell my dad I'm getting a tattoo in honour of him, when neither of us are great with emotions

Title pretty much sums it up! Over the last year a lot of my friends fathers have passed away, and it's made me (26f) appreciate and love my dad (55m) a lot. I decided to get a tattoo for him, but I'm really struggling trying to think of how to tell him why I'm getting it and what it means (it's a abstract tattoo of the ursa major/minor constellations, his nickname for me has been "baby bear" since I was very young). We're very close but we're both pretty emotionally constipated and struggle a lot with speaking openly and emotionally with each other, and I'm very embarrassed just by the concept of telling him how much he means to me. Any help and advice would be much appreciated!

Tl;dr - I want to get a tattoo for my dad but I'm embarrassed to actually say I love him and let him know how much he means to me
