I need advice, how do you know if a guy genuinely like you or just messing around?

So, I met this guy online and he lives so far away. There’s timezone too, we’ve been talking for more than a month, he always text me during work hours but when he is home he stopped or the quantities of text will lessen, he will be so distant on weekends and my text will be ignored. It makes me anxious, he often asked for my selfie nothing sexual just my face and I told him I was sexually assaulted and grow up in a culture where sexual topic isn’t widely and openly discussed. And he apparently, thinks physically touch important, he knows everything and said he respect me and like me more as a person than just sex. But been telling me he has wet dreams with me, several times. And I don’t know how to react and it’s awkward for me as well. And I can’t stop wondering whether he sees me as a person or just sexually attractive. But, I also wonder why would he stays for a month and more if he wants to have sex he can do it with someone who lives near him. But, the inconsistency text always waking up my doubt. So I’m torn. I need your perspective to help me understand him.

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now. We hit it off and spent a lot of time together but she began to push our relationship as if there were a time clock for milestones.
