If a girl invites a guy (crush on him) to a movie, but that guy refuses to go......., is that a sign of disinterest?

Hi everyone, if anyone can help me and give me any suggestions. Like I said, I'm not feeling well these three days. I don't know if I should give up. I like or I can say I crush on a guy (he's my classmate, we're the same major). I feel like he likes me, too. We have known each other for nearly two semesters. We also have three classes this semester. For example, he always waits for me to leave the classroom after class, talking or walking together to the library. But he never uses his phone to contact me if we didn't see each other, such as on weekend, unless I text him first, he just wants to reply. He is a very hard-working person and smart, he is a little introverted.....I never told him I liked him. Last Saturday, I tried to ask him if he had time to go to the theater to watch a movie next weekend, but he told me that he had something, and he didn't tell me that he wanted to change the time. I knew I was refused by him. I was really sad. Because I'm a girl, he is a guy, but he refused my invitation. Today, he saw I was a little unhappy (I guess), he told me that he might be free on next Saturday. But I said to him, I will never ask you something like this again. Because he just said to me about he was free, and he didn't say to me about something like he wanted to invite me to a movie. I don't know if I need to give up. Give up.....like him.......I also want to know, he doesn't like me, right? :(
