lab partner crushh

OK HERES THE TEA GUYS!

Every thursday I have a bio lab class which lasts about 2 hours and 50 minutes. On my first day I was randomly assigned to this guy who I think is super cute. We really hit it off on our first day working together. He smiles at me a lot and I catch him looking at me sometimes. We joke around a lot as well and exchanged numbers to work on lab homework together. When our first lab session ended I packed up my things and left (basically didn't wait for him ). The next week same situation happened, more laughing, talking, doing the lab, and basically asking personal questions about each other back and forth. During the end of our second lab session he stalled around and waited for me to pack up my things and we walked out together and went our separate ways. Two days before our third lab session we had to work on our lab presentation so we agreed that since we could not meet, we will both individually do the presentation and then submit either one. I ended up doing it completely wrong so he called me that night and helped me through it, while I was working through the problem (with him on the line) he asked about my day, work and we went on a tangent with discussions. Eventually we ended up talking about indian food which we both like and he suggested both of us should go get indian food together sometime. I told him I was down. Anyways after our lab presentation was over I texted him that day and asked when he wanted to get food and he suggested a tuesday night. Two days before the dinner (sunday) I texted him to ask if we were still down and what time we should meet up, I did not get a reply until monday night and he said he had to cancel because he had an o.chem exam and a club meeting. And I said thats fine and we could reschedule based on his availability. That week when I saw him at lab he acted the same way towards me but never brought up dinner. I texted him a couple of times casually but his responses were vague and at times he did not respond. Im confused because during lab he acts all friendly and genuinely seems interested in me but over text he is the complete opposite. I like this guy and want to get to know him but I'm entirely confused on what to do.
