Braces, what do you think?

I'm a 25 year old guy that had braces on for a couple months now. I really needed them, but for insecurity reasons I never took the leap of faith. My problem with them on is I feel I'll have to wait another 2 years if I ever have a shot at getting a girl to like me. For context, I still try. I work out, try to eat right (lately I've slacked due to circumstances) and try to take care of myself. I'm doing everything I can to make myself a desirable person to be around, but I'm super shy. And I guess the braces add to that feeling and make it hard to even approach the idea of talking to a girl that way.

My question is what do girls think about braces? Please be brutally honest, I'm not looking for pity or pep talk, just trying to take an honest poll to know what the objective view of braces are

My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse.
