I [24F] had a period accident in a guy's [24m] bed...but he was totally okay with it?

Guys, I need your advice, I feel so embarassed. I've been talking/calling a guy for a year now and we finally met up a couple months ago in real life. I always just thought i was on the back burner because he seemed pretty close with his ex which was a red flag to me..

However, one day I was at his place and got my period, and because of that, I wanted to keep my bottoms on because of it. We were fooling around in bed, and he tried taking me bottoms off, to which i was like "NOOO PLEASEE IM ON MY PERIOD AND ITS GOING BE GROSS FOR YOU" but he was TOTALLY okay with it and didn't care at all. He just continued like everything was normal which made me feel comfortable. However, I still felt TERRIBLE. We woke up, and i saw a stain on his bed/mattress sheets and drips on the floor too. I felt so bad. He kept reassuring me saying it was no big deal at all, and all he cared about was that I had fun (he even went down on me during my period which i told me he didn't have to).

Are all guys genuinely okay with this? Or is it a turn off/gross? would you let this happen for a girl who you weren't interested in? For the longest time, I really thought I was on the back burner or maybe he just wanted to sleep with me (note: we didn't even have PIV sex before), but this whole situation is making me wonder if all guys would be okay with this or a guy who actually and genuinely likes me?

My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse.
