My boyfriend feels awkward and embarrassed having sex with me

Hey guys, so me (F21) and my boyfriend (M24) have been dating for about 2 years now and lately (maybe the past 6 months) my boyfriend has been avoiding having sex with me. He always says he’s too tired or not in the mood, no matter what time I try to initiate it. Before this started happening we used to have sex almost every time we saw each other. I’ve brought this up to him several times but he’s always just denied that he’s avoiding it and tried to change the subject. Last night, he finally told me that he avoids it because he feels awkward and embarrassed when we’re intimate. He also kept saying he didn’t know why he felt that way, he can’t figure out what’s changed, and that it’s nothing that I have done.

So I guess my question is does anyone know why he might be feeling this way? Is it simply just that he isn’t attracted to me anymore? And does anyone know how we can work through this? I really don’t want to live my life in a sexless relationship.

My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse.
