female masturbation is a taboo

I am a woman in her teenage years and, as every person of my age, I’m starting to explore sexuality. I’ve never had sex or done any type of foreplay, I fulfill my sexual necesities masturbating, but it seems like I’m the only one that does that. let me explain better: boys are constantly and openly talking about what they do in privacy and it’s seen as a normal thing, but when girls get asked if they watch porn or masturbate it’s seen like an outrageous act by everyone. I really don’t like that because when someone brings the argument up, everyone (me in the first place) denies that we watch porn or masturbate like it’s something to be ashamed of. I wish I could talk with my friends about that freely, but I’d be scared to feel apart or in a position of discomfort, even though I know that there’s nothing wrong with that and that everyone does that, it just feels like it’s something girls should be ashamed of and should not talk about. of course I wouldn’t want to talk about intimate stuff since I’m a private person, but sometimes I think of dirty jokes about porn or something like that that would let us have a nice laugh and I have to keep my mouth shut so I don’t feel out of place. so I wanted to ask: do you girls talk with your friends about that? do they know that you do that? and most importantly: if someone brings that up again, what should I say? should I feel free to say that, since us woman are human beings, we need to fulfill the same sexual needs as men or something else? your help is really appreciated, thank you
