Is it okay to ask your crush if she wants to start dating you on your first "date"

So lemme explain this real quick. I asked my crush out if she wants to go see a movie and she said yes. She has also told me several times that she likes my personality and that im really kind to her and stuff. And after we go out of the cinema and get some food i want to ask her if she wants to start dating with me. I am also kinda scared of being rejected. This is also our first time going out (only us 2 without any friends or classmates). Please tell me if its right to ask her on our first "date" or sometime later.

My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse.
