I haven't had sex for nine months... frustrated, but trying to hold out for a meaningful relationship.

Just want to vent about this anonymously on Reddit...

I (24f) am going through an abnormally long "dry spell". It has been nine whole months! I decided, after several years participating in regular casual sex, that I needed to stop for the sake of my mental health. While there's nothing inherently wrong with casual sex, for me, it became emotionally damaging and I was using it as a source of pure validation.

But Christ, I'm horny. I long to be touched by another human (consensually, obviously).

The next time I have sex, however, I'd really like it to be within the context of meaningful dating/heading towards a serious relationship. I've never had a real romantic relationship, but would like to experience one. In the meantime, yes, I have hands, and can use my imagination, or watch material online... but it's not the same.
